Terms of Service
Polaris, by Polaris Within LLC · Effective July 3, 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Polaris Within LLC ("Polaris," "we," "us") for your use of the Polaris app and website. By creating an account or using Polaris, you agree to them. Please read them, especially the sections on what Polaris is not, and on disputes.
1. What Polaris is
Polaris is a companion for personal reflection and your own manifestation and self-concept practice. Its responses are generated by artificial intelligence. It is designed for encouragement, insight, and self-exploration — a private space to think, not a source of professional guidance.
2. What Polaris is not (please read this)
Polaris does not provide medical, mental-health, psychological, financial, legal, or other professional advice, and is not a substitute for a qualified professional. Nothing it says should be relied on to make health, financial, legal, or life decisions. Always seek a licensed professional for those.
Polaris is not a crisis or emergency service. If you are thinking about harming yourself or someone else, or you are in a medical or safety emergency, do not rely on Polaris. In the US, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), text HOME to 741741, or call 911 — or your local emergency number if you are outside the US.
Manifestation and self-concept practice is a personal, spiritual, and reflective pursuit. Polaris makes no promise or guarantee of any particular result, outcome, income, health, or life change. Your experience is your own.
3. Who can use it
You must be at least 13 years old to use Polaris. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use it only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian. By using Polaris you confirm you meet these requirements.
4. Your account
If you create an account, you agree to provide accurate information, to keep access to your account secure, and to be responsible for activity under it. Sign-in is by a one-time emailed code; keep your email account secure. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.
5. Subscriptions, billing, and cancellation
Polaris offers free use and optional paid subscriptions. If you subscribe:
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase, at the price and interval shown to you at the time.
- Subscriptions automatically renew unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
- Any free trial converts to a paid subscription unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. If you buy a subscription during a free trial, the unused portion of the trial is forfeited.
- You manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple Account settings. Purchases are handled by Apple and are subject to Apple's terms; refunds are governed by Apple's policies. We do not receive or store your card details.
6. Your content is yours
What you write in Polaris — your reflections, conversations, and the notes it builds with you — belongs to you. You grant us only the limited permission needed to operate the service for you: to store your content, and to send it securely to our AI provider to generate your responses, as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not sell your content or use it to advertise to you. You are responsible for what you submit, and you agree not to submit content that is unlawful or that violates someone else's rights.
7. Using Polaris responsibly
You agree not to: use Polaris for any unlawful purpose; harass, abuse, or harm others through it; attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, scrape, or gain unauthorized access to the service; resell or commercially exploit it without our permission; or rely on it in place of professional or emergency care (see Section 2). We may suspend or end access that violates these terms.
8. Artificial intelligence and accuracy
Polaris's responses are generated by AI and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or not suited to your situation. It reflects and encourages; it does not verify facts or know your circumstances the way a professional would. Use your own judgment, and do not treat its responses as fact or advice.
9. Our intellectual property
The Polaris app, its name, design, and content (other than your own content) are owned by Polaris Within LLC and protected by law. We grant you a personal, limited, non-transferable, revocable license to use Polaris for your own personal, non-commercial use under these terms.
10. Disclaimers
Polaris is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that any result will be achieved. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so some of these may not apply to you.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Polaris Within LLC and its owners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from your use of or reliance on Polaris. Our total liability for any claim relating to Polaris will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or 50 US dollars. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this may not apply to you.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Polaris Within LLC and its owners from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your misuse of Polaris or your violation of these terms or of any law or third-party right.
13. Disputes — arbitration and class-action waiver
Please read this section carefully; it affects how disputes are resolved.
- You and Polaris agree to first try to resolve any dispute informally by contacting us.
- If we cannot resolve it, you and Polaris agree that any dispute will be resolved by binding individual arbitration, rather than in court, except that either party may bring a claim in small-claims court where eligible.
- You and Polaris waive any right to a jury trial and to participate in a class, collective, or representative action. Disputes will be brought only in an individual capacity.
- Opt-out: you may opt out of this arbitration agreement within 30 days of first accepting these terms by sending us notice through our support page. If you opt out, disputes will be handled in the courts identified below.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Subject to Section 13, any disputes not sent to arbitration will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Texas.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the effective date above and, where appropriate, let you know in the app. Continuing to use Polaris after changes means you accept the updated terms.
16. Ending your use
You may stop using Polaris at any time and delete your account by contacting us. We may suspend or end your access if you violate these terms or to protect the service or other people. Sections that by their nature should survive (such as disclaimers, limitation of liability, and disputes) will survive.
